My dog isn’t very (abstractly) smart. She wants to chase cars, for example, even though it’s bad for her health. If she could read, no doubt she would go on the internet and find all sorts of inane batshit material to support her position (taxis are communist! Kill them before they kill you!). It’s exasperating.

But I love my dog more than anything in this world. She’s loyal, emotionally sensitive, and cute. The fact that she chases cars doesn’t change how I feel towards her.

People seem to overvalue intelligence and discount love.
