The statistics of boys being sexually abused is likely much higher than 1 and 6 because of the toxic patriarchal society that makes it almost impossible for survivors to speak out, in addition to repressed trauma. I think you’re on to something here, in the sense patriarchy affects both men and women, and the term is basically interchangeable with child abuse. Speaking out against sexual abuse and violence is essentially fighting patriarchy, and it’s not simply and man vs woman issue either.
